If your boat is built for taking rough water, then it would be worth shipping. The swells on the east side average 4-6 feet, and can get much bigger. Summertime generally has a bit smaller seas, but you have to be ready for the swell to get bigger without notice. The river fishing here is generally near the mouth of the rivers, and is mostly fish that come in from the ocean.
I'm hoping that I will be ready for a fishing trip in about three weeks, it's been too long since I've wet a line. But I've got to get set up to live on our property before I can think about doing anything else.
