What to do with used books?

I'll take them. I can offer them to students (HCC) also.

most libraries have a "friends" group that does fundraisers, and the library takes donations year-round to sell to the public.
Mountain View has a sale coming up in October, I think Hilo has one around that time, too.

http://www.friendsofthelibraryofhawaii.o...lesnearyou has more info.

I'm doing a workshop over the weekend that will consume all my attention, plus driving across island and back, but Monday? If the storm fizzles ...

Kathy, the university in Hilo probably has a student newspaper. I suggest a classified ad in that student paper.

Also, if there are philosophy books as well as literature, contact the heads of those departments at the university and let them know that the collection is for sale (or donation?).

Those are books that need a good home where they would be appreciated.
