Moral to the story? don't download bit torrent.
No. Morals means you don't use quasi-legal means to download pirated copies of movies and music. [V]

morals might also mean companies purporting to be separate entities when they are in fact not - don't you think? (there are laws about monopolies you know)
or consumer laws that are stacked against the consumer - don't you think?
or a legal maneuvers that involves blackmailing your customers into submission - don't you think? (whatever argument there is , it is between them and bit torrent, not me)
yes they did warn me. they did not mention that they would then empty my bank account without my knowledge though. how moralistic is that do you think? TWICE.
i am not sure it is moralistic to refuse to allow the people you do that to, the opportunity to communicate about it either.
does big business actually have morals? can the term even be applied in this discussion?

You are allowed to make backup copies of copy written works that you have legally purchased, now what if your 30 year old 8 track tape player eats your only copy of the soundtrack to Grease? What are you supposed to do? You can obtain your copy from bitorrent. You may want to save your mangled mess of 8 track tape and plastic cartridge in case the music police come knocking on your door. Just make sure that you adjust your bitorrent settings to not share your legally downloaded copy of Grease, THAT can get you in trouble faster than greased lightning!

I remember once having the 8 track player eat a cartridge and I salvaged the tape and strung it up on a reel to reel (I was a kid so I didn't know this wouldn't work). The reel to reel was a 4 track system- one stereo track (two tracks) on each side (hence you had to reverse the reels (flip which side was being read)). The result of playing the 8 track tape on the 4 track player is that two different songs played at the same time... one on each speaker. I guess the media itself was the same, its just how it was used was different.

I think the Pirate Code "well, more of a guideline......", allows for Pirates to steal from other Pirates.
