Washing machine choices
#21
Mission accomplished. Called the head of the appliance department at Sears this morning and learned that they do have the model we wanted in the warehouse, but did not have one on the floor of the store, hence the mix-up. So we are now the proud owners of an new Kenmore High Efficiency front-loading washer. Will install it ourselves later today.

Cheerfully looking forward to wash day,
Jerry

I am resurrecting this old thread, as there is a class action settlement on some front loading washing machine models that may have been discussed here.
Consumers Report info on the settlement link:

The models can be found here:

Hi Jerry and Bear. I appreciate the info you've uncovered as we too anticipate needing a new washer . We're still using our 20 Year old Maytag. Repairman told me it had a slow oil leak years ago, but it still goes even thou it too lives outside. Maytag was a good washer.

We just bought a recumbent bike online from Sears last week and I was not a happy customer. It cost nearly 200$ more than Amazon, (but they wouldn't deliver.) Sears wanted 120. $ to deliver. (No way. ) Sears advertised Easy In Store pick up. It wasn't. It was at the Warehouse. (Meanwhile, my friend with a truck was following me all over town on his lunch hour) Frustrating! Sears isn't what it used to be. Trustworthy.

Anybody remember the Nut Counter at Sears?

I'd go pick up trash again to spend some time with you Jerry! Aloha to you and Bear!
