Goats
#11
Kukanaka,

I use Vet Associates out of Waimea. They make farm visits. I think it was $50 to $75 last time they came out plus the cost of the vet fees.

I am gradually learning to do things myself but disbuding is not yet one of them.

Seeske ub Kea'au will do goats but you have to bring them in.

I have Nigerian Dwarf goats.

I use Seeske in Keaau but haven't had to take them in. I give my own injections. Worming is no issue if done regularly (every 2-3 months). Mine are very healthy from being fed a mixture daily of sheep/goat chow, green leaves of either banana, wiwi or ginger and about 4 papaya a day per goat, plus they have a 1/2 acre fenced field shared with some sheep. They get lots of exercise, petted pretty much every day and they do fine.

Smile

Just another day in P A R A D I S E !!

We had a single goat - Manapua was his name - he did well and was spolied rotten but he did think the kids were his herd. And we were the "makua hanai" or feeding parents to both the goat and the teenagers.
