Came across a great website on movies.

(http://www.imdb.com/chart/top) if you click on the title, it gives

you all the info. about that movie. [Big Grin]

Also at the public library, you can rent dvd's and vhs movies for up

to 7 days @ $1.00 per movie

If you are looking for certain title, you can search their website

and put in your request, you will be notified when the movie is in.

The library is a good idea, but Netflix and Blockbuster home delivery is even
better. For about $18 a month you can watch unlimited movies. You make a list
on the website and they send 3 at a time. As soon as you watch one, you send it back
and they send out another. No late fees. Netflix even has a nifty program that
suggests which movies you might like depending on what you've already watched
and how you rated each movie. Netflix has a free trial happening now.

C'mon people, stop watching the same movies over and over, there are lots of good
ones out there, more than you could ever hope to have time to watch.

My favorite: Glengarry Glen Ross. I've only watched it once, I'm sure the
second time would be a disappointment.

It is a way (for me) to support the library!!
I remember living in areas where the library van would come every 3 weeks. Oregon and Northern California because of cutbacks, libraries
open 2-3 days a week. Hilo has a good library, when I delve into the different category's of books amazing what I come across.

"A Princess of Mars" ...
hey, Jon and I DO share a "like" [Smile]

I read all of Edgar Rice Burroughs when I was 12, during the time Ace and Dell reprinted his works in paperback ... and still love them.

Movies - I like so many, I don't have favorites.
Mostly I don't rewatch them, but I've watched The Usual Suspects a few times; I always enjoy The Big Chill; and we have watched the key scenes to "A Few Good Men" a lot of times.

When I was a kid I watched Robin Hood with Errol Flynn, Pride and Prejudice with Olivier/Greer/Oliver, Alice in Wonderland w/ Cary Grant et al, and the Wizard of Oz, whenever they were shown.

The two Alice books are some of my favorite literature, along with Austen and Jane Eyre. (And yet I love Burroughs, and Sherlock Holmes. Tale of Two Cities, Scarlet Pimpernel, and The Three Musketeers (the whole series) are some of my "guilty pleasures" that I re-read.

If I want to laugh I read Thurber or Wodehouse. [Big Grin]

Jon, I've read all the Tarzan, because when I really like an author I read everything, but Tarzan was not my favorite.

My favorite series were, in order
Barsoom,
Venus,
Pellucidar
Tarzan
Land that Time forgot
Moon Maid

of the singles
The Land of Hidden Men and the Lost Continent
have not read the Outlaw of Torn ... I see it's online ...

Outlaw of Torn is very good. Its along the lines of "I am a Barbarian". Its a historical novel. Sounds like you got hooked like I did. I am an Science Fiction fan but for a time in my life I could not get enough of his stuff.

Some of his stuff is available in audiobooks for free also. check out "http://librivox.org/" if you have not already heard of them.
