please educate me: i thought you were moving to HOVE? if that is the case, what is the reason for your car being shipped to hilo and not kona? is that the only way to do it? imo, HOVE is a ka'u and/or southern sub-dvision--really not considered puna.

Ok ... to toss a monkey wrench into the subject.....
When I was doing a lot of car rentals I never took the liability insurance, comp was on the visa card coverage.
When shipping my car I was told that my mainland carrier triple a did not extend coverage to hawaii. I called their offices to follow up, talked to 4 folks ended in a 2 to 2 tie wether my california policy covered me for liability in hawaii in a non owned, as for one that I owned - no dice for sure.
It was a really murky legal situation in my opinion. I don't think I had liability coverage for all those rental periods, or at least I would have had to fight for it......

thanks carol. i was really confused. after a long flight of almost 5.5 hours, she then has to drive to seaview? another 2.5 - 3 hours. that's going to be really rough on bruno, her dog, and them as well.
wondering? are there any hotels on the kona side that accept animals? maybe SH could stay the night in kona (if possible), then drive the next day to kalapana?

Kani,thank you for your concern.
I still think that driving from Kona with me will be better for him than being a "cargo",tossed from one plane to another.
Anyway,the tickets are bought,paperwork and checks sent to Honolulu Dep. of Agriculture....-and we are jumping from the plane in the middle of dark unfamiliar sky with parachutes barely checked..
Who knows how we land..But the plane door is open and the strong wind is about to blew us out..
