to better serve commuters Mayor Kenoi's office has announced new transfer station hours.
Hilo: 6:30 am to 5 pm
Pahoa: 8 am to 4 pm daily.
Keaau: 8 am to 4 pm daily.
Volcano: 9 am to 4 pm Monday, Thursday, Saturday.

I hate this new schedule. I typically went between 5:30 and 6:30 pm ... and I was not alone. It was a very popular time at the station. Mine is only open three days a week now. Ugh. I need to go today, but it's not open. Transfer station not open on Saturday is just lame.

I fail to see how many of these transfer station hours are friendly to commuters. Looks friendly to the unions to me.

If I understand what ur mayor said at his talk story session, the transfer points are fenced and manned in order to meet Fed/EPA guidelines. If we are not getting sufficient fed funds to pay for this 100% then we should refuse the money and keep them open.
