I was there only once and very disappointed.I paid $35 for the tree I could have gotten from Plant it Hawaii for not more than $25 and much better shape. And it was very little choice of fruit trees.

We always go to the sales, even if we don't buy very many plants because we usually see our friends there.

As folks have mentioned, it isn't always the least expensive plants you will find there, but you will usually find plants that you won't see at any other time of the year.

A portion of the sales do go to scholarships...so it is also a fundraiser. The prices are fine with me. It's a crime that to work in the nursery industry on this island people expect to get well grown, rare plants at a cheap price and keep the grower in poverty. No ones getting rich for what rare plants sell for here.

May be those who want lower prices are being kept in poverty too?
Just saying.
