Predictions for 2007?
#21
Identical, I believe, to the Portuguese cabbage common to Hawaiians of Portuguese ancestry. They use it a lot in soups. At least it looked and tasted just like the Portugese cabbage my neighbor used to grow and he would complement me on my Portugese cabbage patch, which came right from a collard seed pack. I usually make them by boiling them (or nuking) with onion and kipper snacks, smoked oysters or sausage and then topping with chinese hot chilli sauce. I you aren't low carbing a slab of non sweet cornbread goes great.

Okay best greens I ever had was at a little Cayjun place in Los Angeles. They were made with some pork and were really spicy and served with blackened catfish and peach cobbler to follow...not one of the less fattening meals, but verrry yummy.

Shall we predict more gardens being planted with collards this year?

Our garden club is predicting more peaches this year as well as lilac. However we haven't put our order in yet, so it is still not definite.
