Round 'n' round 'n' round she goes, and where she stops, nobody knows. Fortuna's Wheel and Madame Pele may have a lot in common.

OK, now in addition to all the quakes under Kalapana, there are a few just north of Kalapana, right along the rift zone. One of them from last night, registered as being on the surface (depth recorded at 0.0 miles).

The area of the rift zone is seen here:

you guys worry too much. The islands have been there for BILLIONS of years. It's not going anywhere any time soon. Sadly our lives are just a 'BLINK' in the evolution of creation of the islands ... It's a very slow process so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Wink

UMMMM.... don't you mean 500 thousand years for the Island of Hawaii, and only MILLIONS of years for any of the other islands? Still a bunch of years, but nowhere near a Billion....

Nowhere near an ocean entry. Lava returned to Pu`u `O`o 21 days after the crater floor collapsed.
Info on Kilauea can be found here; http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/hvo/activity/k...status.php
