Fish Die off in Kapoho
#21
Coupla hundred years ago a bunch of Hawaiian warriors got asphyxiated in the puna area during a sudden event. The instant I heard of large gas bubbles I suspected volcanic gasses.

The comments about septic and cesspool systems in Kapoho brings even more to the possibilities of what happened. There has to be a connection with the volcanic activity, too. Blaming the geothermal venting is just fodder for the topic of the week/month/year. I'll wait for the scientific evidence to tell us what happened. TIA to all who continue to post updates.

In the old days, before the building of all these vacation rentals/houses, we had no problem eating the fish we caught from that area. Limu, too. Today, I would never think to eat fish from there given the crap in the water. Another area ruined for fishing and limu all the way down to Honolulu Landing. JMO.
