Well that's interesting. The moderator chimes in after I did actually say what I loved and did not love about Pahoa, but has nothing productive or positive to add himself, simply a rude and condescending remark. Good God is a food stamp lifer as well?
I have seen him comment in threads where posters are blatantly insulting one another back and forth and he ignores it or takes sides. In fact I was insulted in this thread which he either couldn't grasp or has just approved of. Obviously he couldn't grasp the depth of the conversation.
The thing about being a moderator is remembering there are always things you don't understand about human nature and language, and to stick to definitives like dealing with those who blatantly insult, regardless how intelligent or worldly you think you are. Unfortunately another forum I liked went downhill fast due to a moderator who would actually side with cyber bullies. He had no clue, his scope of understanding was very limited.
In this case of asking what you love about Pahoa, and I did say what I loved about Pahoa and what was bothering me....that is clearly not insulting or snide. It's an expression like saying I love Pahoa and I hate that the lava may take it over. Respectful people can honor that and not go on the attack.
Seems the anxious ones are those who have zero patience, who can't handle a few words about the inordinate amount of able bodied food stamp scammers written by someone who cares about Pahoa without it "ruining their day". Anxious is being so impatient you can't allow others to express themselves because you must be in control.
Gosh folk do you think you could have something creative to add to the conversation or do you want to keep ganging up on me for expressing my feelings about a town I love that may possibly be covered in lava soon? Or shall you have it your way and show us all how you can be intolerant cyber bullies?
I know the food stamp scamming, as can be seen in every food store in Pahoa, bothers good productive people, even enough to prevent them from living here. If long term use by able bodied folk was not allowed we would have a higher quality of people moving to the area. Scammers attract other scammers and frankly they are ruining a good town, even more so than the lava threat. It's given us a horrible reputation.
