Rescue on the cliffs in HPP
#31
Fishing on south east cliffs while a tropical storm was approaching the south end of the island? There is more to this story and probably was alcohol. A lot of people aren't paying attention to all the reports of sneaker waves. There have been several people killed on Oahu in the past few weeks, being too far out and underestimating the size of a large wave.

"Aloha also means goodbye. Aloha!"
*Japanese tourist on bus through Pahoa, "Is this still America?*

Hotinhawaii....thanks.

The bigger and stormier the surf, the more dangerous the threat of rogue waves or that extra monster set.

Sad news for sure, my condolences to the family. As others have mentioned, hopefully he/she was doing something they loved. It wouldn't surprise me if one day in the future it is me lost to the sea as an old man swept off the cliffs.

Joseph Keialoha of Kea'au. May he serve to remind us all...the cliffs are awesome; the sea provides life to our HPP community. Every time this happens, I respect the ocean more (and I already did). http://bigislandnow.com/2015/10/02/missi...-released/
