And the Hawaiians have been the model of unity and efficiency?

Remember, we are at the point where the word Hawaiian does not exist as a solitary word. There is native Hawaiian with little n, Native Hawiian with big N, local Hawaiian, kanaka maoli Tahitian-descent mixed race local Hawaiian, and to some, anybody that lives here is Hawaiian.

Native Hawaiian is being defined as being at least 50% blood quantum to the original Tahitian settlers prior to 1778. There are only an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 of them that are 100%.

Native Hawaiians are living out the curse placed on them by the high priestess of Pele, for rejecting the kapu. Queen Liliuokalani was a devout Christian when she was overthrown. By her reign, there were no sacred lands in Hawaii. The only sacred lands were in the Middle East.

When High Chiefess Kapiolani rejected the kapu in 1824, it was the kanaka maoli maka'ainana that tore down the heiaus, desecrated burial tombs, selling off bones and funerary items to Europe to buy rum and become European, with the same level of grandeur and pomp. As long as the Native Hawaiians aren't able to resolve this contradiction, they will live out the curse to the end.

As long as our haole governance honors the host culture, we too shall suffer the curse.
