Big Island Blogs: Punaweb Members?
#11
Maybe it is time for Damon to get his own blog instead of hijacking Punaweb as his personal blog. There are lots of free or very cheap venues for blogs out there and I think he would develop a certain following for the "All Things Damon" blog.

Rob, would you at least take out that gun and put it on the table for everyone to see it? You don't have to shot but have the sheriff walk by! [Smile]

Damon, I for one appreciate your postings and your comments. And hey, if you got the time to post often, brah, I think that's cool, too! I am sadly finding less time than I'd like to browse Punaweb, but it's always a joy to check out what's been happening!

In terms of blogging, it's easy to do (well, I say that, but it's my sweetie, David, who does 90% of the posts on our blogs these days!). You can check out the process on www.blogspot.com which is a freebie.

Our first blog, www.moonoverhawaii.blogspot.com was about moving here to the Big Island and building our house, which is now completed. David just started a second blog, www.moonoverhawaii2.blogspot.com which is the continuing saga, including lots of photos of things pertaining to our adventures here. David's getting ready to post some photos of our recent gecko fight (who needs TV when you have geckos fighting on your lanai!?!?! Well, actually, the Direct TV guy is here right now, trying to get us hooked up to satellite...sigh). Anyhow, the gecko fight was awesome! No one won!!! Even more awesome!!

I wish I had more hours in the day, because I really do enjoy reading other folks' blogs (in addition to Punaweb), and I know we really get a kick out of folks' comments on our blog, too. Blogging seems to have taken the place of the annual mimeographed Christmas letter, plus having the added feature of a potential world-wide audience! I think it's a grand venue for us frustrated writers and photographers!

Blog on!

Aloha! So while all you folks are arguing about whether or not to allow business blogs, I'll just slide in another one. Actually, it's only a business blog because I published a book, and the blog started as a forum for people wanting more info and also for interested folks to get ahold of each other. The blog is about moving to and living in Hawaii, doing it affordably and most importantly, LIVING ALOHA! There is no requirement to buy anything, and although you might find the book mentioned in conversation here and there, it's not a sales pitch. Quite a few folks on the blog simply want to reach out or ask questions and haven't even bought the book. So try it, read some of the postings, and if it feels useful to you, E Komo Mai! If not, Aloha Nui!

BTW, it says newbie on my username, but that's only because I misplaced my old password of years ago. I lived in Puna (Leilani and then Kapoho) for some ten years before moving to Hilo where I am now. And way back before Puna it was the Windward side of Oahu . . .
