How - an IQ test to buy a gun? I'd support that if there were one to drive a car too.

All kinds of tips for training gun-shy dogs on youtube, etc. It works for all kinds of loud and sudden noises. Hunting dogs respond well to associating the noise of the gun to the retrieval of the bird but positive reinforcement to associate the noise to something they like, works well. My current Lab will get excited when she hears a gunshot or fireworks off in the distance. Thinks it is time to go get the bird.
