Lucky You Live Puna???
#11
Able to own my land and my unpermitted home outright. Off-grid with no water, sewer, electric, trash, rent, or mortgage bills. A live and let live attitude, where you can do what you want on your land, and have a little privacy. It's the only place I've ever lived that really feels like America.

I also enjoy the cool rainy days, planting fruit trees, visits to the beach, the people I work with, and the cool quirky people I've made friends with.

Show respect, humility and be humble and you will be treated well. Willie Nelson used to own a place in Puna and was occasionally seen in Pahoa although he blended in so well with the old, long-haired hippie crowd that he was generally unrecognized. I used to think that was one of the reasons why he liked it so much here.
