Saddle Road Update
#21
Yes, usually there's a bond. But then considering the current economic conditions, seems like anything can happen...maybe even to the bond insurer (?)

I miss the old Saddle Road.
I disagree though that it allowed one to slow down and look at the scenery. If the driver was looking at scenery, they probably ended up as one of the numerous piles of car parts that seemed to be a part of every chunk of lava at each curve.

This morning, I went to Kona via the Saddle. At near the 14MM or so I stopped to check on a rather fresh set of skid marks and a nice new grill from a Suzuki car that was into a set of trees. Must have happened earlier. The rest of the car was not to be found. I was pleased to have not found someone dead.

I need to do correct this information. The CFLHD only stated that Road & Highway Builders was the apparent low bidder for the latest Saddle Road phase. They didn't award them the contract yet.
