Insane Drivers of Hawaii, Chapter 17
#21
Finally going in for my driver's license and taking the written test soon. Just studied the driver's manual tonight and laughed repeatedly at all the infractions I see daily on these crazy roads. But then, I saw them on a lesser scale in "old country", too. I moved from a county population of 16,000 compared to our county pop. of ...what?...160,000, not counting tourists and temporary visitors?
And yes, our police are often violators of the laws they are supposed to enforce! (don't like to bad-mouth the police but I have to say it as it is witnessed by my own eyes)

Many years back, a dear friend's daughter was in a T-bone wreck on Homecoming night near the high school because a driver did not have his lights on and the girl failed to see the car as she pulled out onto the street. Badly injured for life...

Parking lights, fog lights DO NOT cut it! But just as the driver's manual noted, it's up to each of us to drive defensively and avoid the arrogant driver out there who shows no concern for his visibility to other drivers. Be safe!!
