one load of trash per day!

You guys are funny. Kalakoa, who begrudges county for getting out of bed in the morning.. needs to bitch.. so here's today's.

WTF.. county is adjusting to the new reality of all the garbage being trucked half the way to Mars. So, based on the equipment and manpower at hand, and the amount of trash being brought to the transfer stations daily, they are adjusting things and asking for the public's participation. But OMG with kalakoa anything county touches is bad, and the way they touch it is wrong, and damn. Kalakoa, why don't you show us all how to do it instead of bitching all the time?

The sheeple believe the County has their best interests at heart. “Oh look, more management and overhead for our garbage, it must mean a better quality garbage disposal experience!” Well, no need to get our wool up in a dander, after they fleece us, it’ll grow back!”

“Hey did you hear? The County is serving Leg of Lamb at their worker’s appreciation picnic. I wonder where that comes from?”

Not to mention the whole "shutting down recycling" and "no composting facility".

County: the cause of, and solution to, all of our problems -- just need a small tax increase, it will only be pennies, we promise.

No, the GET increase was always for salaries and benefits, one way or another.

If only there was a way to turn our garbage into something useful, like energy. Oh...wait, we can't have that here because of hostess bars!

Mayor Ends Waste-to-Energy Incinerator Plans in Hawaii
West Hawaii Today | Jan 25, 2015

Citing uncertainty about oil prices and instability in the ownership of the state’s electric utility, Mayor Billy Kenoi on Friday yanked the plug on a proposed waste-to-energy incinerator.

The project that sparked intense community debate and colored an election season will not be picked up again during the remaining two years of Kenoi’s term. If it had gone forward, the more than $100 million project would have been the county’s most expensive public works project in history.

Instead, the mayor said, he will focus on diverting more waste from the county’s two landfills, in particular organic and green waste. He will also work to get a state permit to steepen the slope of the existing Hilo landfill, a process he said would add eight to 10 years to its lifespan.

The dramatic decrease of oil prices from $100 a barrel to less than $50 drove down the price Hawaii Electric Light Co. would pay the county for electricity, making it less feasible that the facility would pay for itself, he said.

Perhaps some kind of ... composting facility?

Fortunately the price of oil can never go up again, and it will always be worthwhile to continue importing our basic necessities.
