Carrie and Tony Update
#31
Carrie and John D.,
Thanks for posting the URL for the house. Looks like you guys got yourself an excellant deal there. Newer home and all the things with it. Plus the car too!
It will be interesting to see how well you like that subdvision. I did mention that one as one that I would consider in my choices, but was nixxed by John Rabi.
I have yet to tour it, but have just seen the pictures and it looks good. It looks like the prices are coming down still in the area and these sellers certainly dropped it quite a bunch! Good thing John was on top of it and took you to see that one too.
Are the bidding wars about over on most of these sales in the 2-400K range? On Harry Pritikin update I do not see the volume of sales going on as there were even 5 months ago.

Glad that you will be in your new home soon and everything will be squared away for you then. I can imagine that you can hardly wait until it all happens!

Aloha,
Lucy

Thanks for your kind words, Lucy! We are thrilled with the house and the neighborhood. Many Japanese people who my very friendly neighbor across the street Dawn, tells us are just great neighbors and very nice.

We really loved the Nanawale house - whoever gets that one is blessed to be sure! But upon comparison is was the best choice since my mom is disabled and this on is on slab. Also you can't sneeze at mail delivery, unlimited water for $20 a month, paved roads, cable, and the HSRE community center and very nice pool only three streets from us! The house and yard are very pleasant and I can hardly believe all of the fruit and flora! I love gardenia and there's just the biggest gardenia bush I ever saw in the yard as well as uncountable other flowering plants and shrubs.

We are rolling along and the last part here is the hardest with selling our home here and getting the moving done...it's a good kinda hard though I have to say!

We feel like we could not have had a better "guardian" than John Dirgo! He's has such a pleasant and patient disposition and was so informative (aka "John the Albizia Slayer" LOL) with the area and the pros and cons of each place we looked at.

Look forward to meeting everyone at a future Punaweb Party for sure!

Aloha!

Carrie and Tony,
While we are slightly upset that you didn't choose our Nanawale house (for all you inquiring minds http://hawaiiinformation.com/REsearch/IDX/mlsHawaii/IndividualListing.asp?page=1&MLS=177450) we are very happy that you found a home. We live in HSRE and we love it and chose it for the same reasons you mentioned. See you at the pool!

Aloha,
Jody

Jody...I'm so glad we'll be neighbors! I have to tell you that your house was amazing. As you know we seriously considered it, the only thing was my mom's mobility. She would've had such a hard time going in and out...even with a ramp it's kinda rough on her. Tony said so many times that if it was just the two of us there was no contest with ANY other house...it would've been the Kauai house. That house is so well done - not one thing was left undone or half-done...it's a great home.

What street are you on in HSRE?

We loved the 7 years we lived in the Nanawale house. Thank you for your kind words. Now let's hope we find a buyer soon!

We're a couple of streets away from the pool going the other way, on Kaku.

Aloha,
Jody

Good morning Carrie.

Cary, my neighbor said for Tony to email him about working at Toyota in Hilo. He is off today so he’ll be available until he goes down to his property to work.

Well Mella, you're on your way to the BI as I type this...hope you have a great stay!

I called Hawaiian Air earlier in the week to change our flight out of Hilo so we didn't have as much time in Honolulu...well I asked her "What time do we leave Hilo?" She told me 1:15pm...we got to the airport at 12:30 or so and found that our flight ARRIVED in Honolulu at 1:15!! The only option we had was to buy ANOTHER ticket at $175 per person (From ALOHA) just to get us to Honolulu so we didn't miss our flight back to Arizona!! I can't tell you how p*$@*d we were! I am gonna write to Hawaiian about it but I just know they won't do a thing.

It's so weird being here in Arizona...I feel like I am having a little bit of culture shock you guys. The monsoons started here while we were gone and it's so hot too. The thought that we have a place to be before too long will carry us through I'm sure.

Thanks for all your good thoughts!

Carrie

P.S. Royall...what's your friend's name? I wonder if Tony could talk with him to get the real scoop. You KNOW they make it sound so good, but he never really did get a wage from Jamie Trujillo, the service manager...said he would email them to Tony. That's the only thing that kinda worries him. Right now he gets every Sunday and only every-other Saturday off. So I guess if he has to work a week here and there more than the three-day-off thing he won't mind.
Mahalo!

Awesome Royall! Thanks. When Tony gets home from work I'll pass that along! It's always good to get the real deal from someone who actually works there. Managers try to pretty things up a bit. He'll be glad to talk to Cary.

I'm so glad to hear that in the weeks I've been absent from this forum (closing on last home and selling all my worldly possessions), that you have made such great headway towards your dream. Congratulations!
