I have to agree with Pam and Carey...Keaau is a tough school. He will be challenged for sure. I hear wonderful things about the University, though and if he is a resident here it would be VERY cost effective.

I am pretty sure that a minor who had to move to Hawaii because his parents did gets Hawaii residency status for tuition, even if he hasn't lived here a year. He may even be able to finish up at his mainland school and then move over for college, depending on when he turns 18. The Uh website has a full rundown on residency requirements, but minors get a break because they are forced to move with their parents. I think graduating from a Hawaii HS gives automatic Hawaii residency.
