It would also be fun to hear a local band do a cover of The Greatful Dead doing a cover of Dave Matthews doing a cover of Jimi Hendrix doing a cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the watchtower".

The Dead were playing "All along the Watchtower" when Dave Mathews was still in grade school, so you might have that order wrong. Let's face it, Dylan is a master songwriter with hundreds of songs, who wouldn't want to cover at least something he wrote? Carol

Carol, You are absolutely right about the order getting mixed up.
"All along the watchtower was also covered by U2, Prince, Neil Young, Bryan Ferry, Pearl Jam, Dave Mason, the Allmans, and a dozen or so others. Perhaps someone with a research grant would have the means to correctly chronologicalise them.[  ]punatoons |
