Corpse flower at Panaewa Zoo

I know it's a rare flower/event. But I find it interesting that folks will line up to take a whiff of something that smells like rotting meat. Just sayin'! (No ill intent in this post, just making a goofy observation :-)

LOL. People have made fortunes getting other people to pay to see (or even do) things that frighten, disgust, or enrage them. This is mild compared to most . . . and free!

It is still going just as full bloom as yesterday according to the photos.
The docent there said this is the same plant that we called the "voodoo lily" in Washington state. The smaller/shorter ones are jet black with real spotted stems. They have some of these black ones back in another area of the zoo.
NO smell at all today.
Really worth going to see.

Was there at around 10 this morning and there was just a little bit of odor left - every once in a while you could catch a whiff. Thanks for the videos!
