thanx NWGUY! Smile you helped me make up my mind! The stinky water did the trick ;D
I can remember visiting my sis in San Diego and the tap water was a stinking chalky flavor/odor, after great tasty water in Alaska there is no way I could live somewhere that the tap water stinks!

Is Longbeach/Ocean Park the same way as Ocean Shores?

Sorry to be "off" Hawaii subject... Still wishin I could move to Hawaii instead but after reading many of the punaweb posts and really thinking about some of the things said, we realized it would just be too far away from family and just as inconvenient and costly to travel and visit family. It made me feel too selfish thinking about once again following our dreams to move yet again far removed from family. We have spent the past 20 years in Alaska and have missed out on our grandkids growing up Sad It was very helpful for me to find punaweb and read what people who live there have to say Smile

I thought that was one of the benefits of living here?

Been down that road already here in Alaska, there are nice things about the solitude but also you miss many joys of family near. Our kids & grandkids are more important than our desire to swim with turtles, listen to the Sunday drum circle, eat and grow fresh food year round, amongst a host of other awesomeness! Hawaii certainly gave us MUCH to consider and was/is a great temptation Wink

Yep; very similar sharp jolt here in Kurtistown. According to the map it was in almost exactly the same place, south central pali of Kilauea.
