Black Cinders
#11
Black cinder for growth, red cinder has a pH imbalance.

On a recent trip to Home Depot I parked in their lot and cut through the hedge to Burger King. On the return trip I began to feel fire ant bites around my collar. On a subsequent trip I brought peanut butter and chopsticks and confirmed that that hedge has fire ants. I didn't check anywhere else but I think it likely that most of the vegetation around Home Depot has fire ants. If so then the best policy would be to assume that stuff you buy there that might have sat outside on the loading dock has fire ants.

Black cinder helps growth as it mimics certain plant's growth habitats. Red cinder, in my experience, is great for trails here in Puna, as it tends to turn to a hard clay-like substance that inhibits growth and makes mucky trails firmer.
