You just pointed to an ultimate time and place as far as I'm concerned. ...something about early to mid 70's N. shore holds a special spot in my early memories. Matsumoto's shave ice, sunset hibachi to cap off a day at the beach... classic.
Coconuts.

Coconuts.
The same holds true for me. Special time, special place. Alligators, Sharks Cove, Three Tables, Brazilian bikinis, brown tanned skin, coconut tanning oil, loved those sunsets. Back to coconuts. Love anything w/coconut in it.

Even at age 6 or 7, I held a high regard for 70's N shore Brazilian bikinis.
Which brings to mind, I seem to remember some place had the best coconut buns. I think either a Wahiawa or Waipahu bakery.
