Pahoa landing strip reopening?
#11
From the site; pictures and maps......

The date of construction of this small airfield on the east coast of the island of Hawaii has not been determined.

The earliest depiction which has been located of Pahoa Airstrip was on the 1965 USGS topo map.

It depicted “Pahoa Airstrip” as a single northeast/southwest runway, with the southwestern half paved.

Mahalo Kalakoa, thought I was getting crazier than I already am! There is a tower at the other end of the "runway" that truly is for crop dusters or small, acrobatic aircraft as I recall my Dad and I in a little Cessna with Pop sayin' "practice a "touch and go" there", and me thinking "uh-huh, Suuure".
