First, "cadmium telluride, copper indium selenide, cadmium gallium (di)selenide, copper indium gallium (di)selenide" are only present in thin-film cells, which make up less than 10% of PV cells produced. That vast (vast) majority of cells you see on peoples' roofs here in Hawai'i - those are polysilicon, not thin-film. And silicon tetrachloride is only used in the manufacturing process, it doesn't end up in the PV cells.

Second, I have often wondered - does anyone here know of anyone who has had to throw away a PV panel because it stopped working ? And I don't mean from abuse.
