Body found in Hummer in the ocean off HPP
#11
The vehicle was off the cliff on the open
section of HPP between Paradise and Makuu.
At one of the few places where you can park right up the to edge. I was out jogging this morning and notice some markers and a flower arrangement at a spot I'm assuming was where it happened.

Haven't noticed much in the news, including whether it was a real accident or possibly a suicide.

As for being a "traffic accident" statistic or not, just being inside a vehicle doesn't qualify as "traffic" which is usually reserved for actually being moving on a road.

Probably never will know what exactly happended, but the poor guy any way.

They are doing an autopsy. Also - the guy was unclothed...very strange, indeed. Be interesting to see what becomes of this story.

According to neighbors, the guy usually wore a lavalava (like a sarong) so the suspicion is that it came off.

The autopsy showed that he died from the injuries sustained from falling off the cliff and foul play is not currently suspected.

Oh this is just so very sad. Looks like the police are suspicious of an accident and are looking for the missing passenger side door. On our last visit over we were at this exact spot taking midnight pictures of the moon over the ocean. I will never visit that spot again without thinking of this man and the accident. Just too sad.

Carrie this is one of your favorite spots too for whale watching. We'll have to say many prayers the next time we visit.

WOW! This was from way back when! Funny thing is, as I reread the posts it came back just like it was last week. How very strange!

Brit means a pareo, or a sarong or a lavalava. And thus the current name of the house: Hale Lavalava, named in his honor. I am very sorry about your dad, Brit. He was remembered fondly by many. He made good bread and from everything I heard, he absolutely adored his kids. He left bunnies behind. The last of them left the house about a year ago. My regards to your mom, the air traffic controller.
