"citizens and resident aliens can also be detained indefinitely"
"Can" be detained indefinitely to the whim to who? If they point a finger at you and call you "terrorist" without cause, they candetain you indefinitely. Is this OK with you???

What does FFS mean?

All I see here is a couple of amateurs trying to comment on fairly complex law matters.
Do you really think the above *requires* non-citizens to be detained indefinitely?

Maybe the following article will help you understand the situation.

Thank you, that is a good link. I do struggle with the concept of a citizen being arrested by the military inside the U.S and prosecuted in military court. I can understand the logic for seeing it as constitutional but it still bothers me.

Sen. Lindsey Graham made clear this week that “1031, the statement of authority to detain, does apply to American citizens and it designates the world as the battlefield, including the homeland.”

“Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms.”

Supporters,

Ron Paul would be disastrous for the working class. He supports abolishing the Federal minimum wage, has twice introduced legislation to repeal OSHA, or the Occupational Safety and Health Act and would deal devastating blows to Social Security including repealing the act that makes it mandatory for employees of nonprofits, to make “coverage completely optional for both present and future workers”, and would “freeze benefit levels”. He has also twice sponsored legislation seeking to repeal the Davis-Bacon Act and the Copeland Act which among other things provide that contractors for the federal government must provide the prevailing wage and prohibits corporate “kick backs.” Here are the related legislative links: H.R.2030, H.R.4604, H.R.736, and H.R.2720
This is just one of the reason!

The statement, that changed my mind, he spoke "If they don't have medical insurance, then they will die!" ouch..
Please make an educated vote![Smile]
