Vaccination Resolution
#21
If not, we need a total recall of all members.

I agree with this part.

Yes I have talked with her regarding District concerns. How can that not be personal and/or business. You have the right to suspect whatever you wish be it right or wrong. Can't a common old Punaite speak well of a local Politician.

But, maybe they are all the same person? [?]

"If the Council passes a resolution, there must be some merit to the issue."

Obviously not! Or do you say there was merit to this issue? You think vaccinations aren't safe?

I can (just) forgive the other council members for voting for this stupidity, they want to do Emily a favor which has to be returned some day. It's politics, and they're taking advantage of her, as well they should. She should fire her staffers.

kjlpahoa,

May I suggest you start a separate topic in the Puna Politics section called Emily's Successes for Puna or some such.

We would very much like to consider them all. This is a good time of year for such a discussion. I would like to encourage any supporters of Emily Naeole or Emily herself to promote herself here. I will protect all members and participants from gratuitous or personal attacks. Please know that you are welcome here and people are interested in exploring all sides of local issues. Expect some lively discussion - it will be my job to enforce civility.

I'll say that I'm with PaulW. Sheer stupidity.

Um, I did get the H1N1 vaccination and there's an El Nino that started right after it, maybe we can get a resolution banning El Ninos? I am a constituent and I want my voice heard. Oh, while we're at it I am formally stating that I want to ban plate tectonics! Now that's a real hazard.

Cheers,

Sean

I can say I am pleased that Emily's office has the lights turned off during daytime hours. It shows that they are actively trying to save our tax money to offset the higher rent in the new, more visible office space.

Short and simple:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1...-risk.html

I'm a Puna resident and I want Emily to ban homeopathic "medicine" in Puna. It's dangerous snake oil. That's after El Nino, earthquakes and volcanoes are also banned of course. Will that happen? Of course not. Will we see more county council motions guided by outdated "science" from the 18th and 19th century?

I hope not but suspect we will and it won't be helped by people thinking that the science is right because it was passed by a political council. That is a very frightening prospect to think about, yet it's already happened.

May I say "back to the dark ages"?

Saw this today.

"Just this week, an outbreak of mumps among more than 1,000 people in New Jersey and New York has raised alarm among infectious disease authorities. The outbreak itself is not unusual, though. What's unusual is that the health authorities slipped up and admitted that most of the people infected with mumps had already been vaccinated against mumps.

In Ocean County, New Jersey, county spokeswoman Leslie Terjesen told CNN that 77 percent of those who caught mumps had already been vaccinated against mumps."

Here's an easy ten grand, I guess.

"...The CDC claims the mumps vaccine is 76 to 95 percent effective, but they offer no scientific evidence whatsoever to support that claim. To date, there has never been a randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled study published on the mumps vaccine in humans. The so-called "scientific" evidence supporting these vaccines is purely imaginary.

I still have a $10,000 reward offered for anyone who can provide a single scientific study proving the safety and effectiveness of any H1N1 vaccine (http://www.naturalnews.com/027985_H...). To date, not a single person has stepped forward to claim that $10,000. I might as well raise the reward to a million dollars, because I'll never have to pay it: There is no scientific evidence proving the safety and effectiveness of these vaccines!"

Anybody have thoughts about the park, ampitheater, cultural center, safe swimming areas in Pohoiki area that Emily's office is working on? We stopped by today, spoke with her staff and it sounds as though they are making progress re. securing federal funding.

Also sounded like significant employment would be created by this project.

Sounds interesting. Don't know too much about it. There never seem to be any public meetings or press releases of any kind so I guess we are dependent on the coconut grapevine.

Three years ago Emily said she had lined up funds for night lighting at the Pahoa Pool. We really haven't heard anything about that since.
