So the story is that it was minimum premium Dan said he was not aware about. So what he quoted (and what I signed for) was too good to be true.
So his company(Mutual Underwriters) paid the difference to the insurer(American Western Home) without informing me (postal services could be to blame, but I never got an e-mail or a phone call).
And now they "have to collect it " from me.
But the best part is - you can not cancel, because the insurer charge the whole year premium as a penalty.
Anyway, people make mistakes.I wish I was informed about the situation before Dan's company decided to pay leaving me out of any options now.

You should check with the state insurance commissioner. They normally keep logs of complaints on insurance companies. You can also file a report if you think something illegal happened.

I don't think anything illegal happened.
And I was not dealing with the insurance directly.
Dan is a "middle man",a broker. He said he made a mistake.
And I believe him.
My other understanding (aside of this story) that a deal is a deal, especially if the contract signed and the check has been cashed (in January).
It's not fair to me,but what's the solution?
I don't think it would be fair to him to pay out of his pocket either.

Everyone makes mistakes, and whoever makes the mistake should take responsibility for making things right. Having said that, though, I think it's bad kharma to take advantage of someone else's honest mistake. In your original note, you said you saved $500 (or $300, depending on how you look at it), so even with the additional $200 payment, you're still better off than you were.
Here's my two cents on how to resolve the issue and feel good about the transaction:
1)If you still would have bought this insurance policy if you had known up front what the total cost would be, then pay the man.
2)If you are really opposed to the total charge or think you can do better elsewhere, then cancel the policy, ask for a refund and go with someone else.
3)If you believe he made an honest mistake but still don't think you should pay the additional amount, why don't you offer to split the difference with him. But be prepared to pay the full amount next year (or find another broker)

I wouldn't take an advantage of someone's honest mistake.
But if I was informed on time,I might have chosen a different insurance.
With this extra it's not much savings (if consider the direct comparison, not the items removed) and it looks like HIPA is much better insurance.
Anyway,something to consider next year.

Honest or dishonest, a mistake is a mistake. If I make a mistake I take responsibility for it and don't expect someone else to feel sorry for me.

Price is not the only thing to look at with insurance, you also need to find out how the company offering cheaper insurance reacts when/if you make a claim. Sometimes you save up front, but if you do have a big accident or disaster in your home they may try to use every excuse not to pay out. A good reputation can be worth paying extra for.
I believe you can look at insurance companies' ratings so you can make your choice based on both price and rating.
I wouldn't be too happy if there was extra cost buried in the small print which was not pointed out to me and then later on I was told I had no choice but to pay for it. My gut reaction would be to cancel the whole thing and start over.

You are so right!
When I looked on all the exclusions and the fact that you can not cancel the policy without losing everything...
With big savings on premium it could make sense in the situation when "you have to what you have to do".
With very little savings makes sense to get a better one.
So given a chance,I'd have chosen HIPA.
It's not about the initial mistake in the quote.
I wish the agent's company did not pay the difference for me
and let me decide.
But ,as I said ,it was a bad luck with postal services on change of address.

You can not cancel - American Western Home charges the whole year premium as a penalty!
I swear,it's not a joke!
"if this insurance is canceled at your request,it will be minimum of
***(my whole year premium -SH) or 100% of the premium for this insurance, which ever is greater."
LOL, *** is exactly 100%.[ ]
(What clown composed the policy?)
