didn't care for the brazilian restaurant in honolulu. some people like it, though.

very good steaks and lamb chops can be found/bought at costco if you're willing to make the trek.

Wonder if a Brazilian style meat place here would work?
You can get bison meat at Safeway too, it's much cheaper than at the health food store. There is a Brazilian restaurant in Honolulu, it's always full!

John,

Most excellent! There was a Brazilian place on Kapiolani for many years, but they'd closed. We used to go there on occasion and I always enjoyed the look of dread on their faces when we'd walk in, as I usually ate much more than they usually served. Will have to check out the one you mention next trip over there.

The one I know of is close to the Convention Center and it's in a small shopping center. I can't recall the name, but I'm sure they are listed in the phone book.

That's Jesse the Hot Dog Guy-- came recently from Alaska and has sources there for his product. I've had elk and reindeer both, and enjoyed 'em. If you're looking to get a taste of the Great North, he can usually be found at the Y intersection 132 and Pohoiki Rd. Oh, also his buns are made by Pookie's and they are great!

Mark addressed this earlier, but I'll add that I asked my parents to stop sending the Omaha boxes after the fourth or fifth time because of the packaging. The steaks were fine, but the other meats (turkey/ham) were nothing special--actually tasted a bit 'chemical-ly.' (The twice-baked potatoes...well, those were dangerously good.) In the bigger picture, though, the ingredients weren't the best and the wasteful packaging left me with no choice but to opt out. As much as I love that my dad still likes to feed his little girl who is "so far away in Hawaii" at Easter...all the plastic and Styrofoam was just a bit too much.
