Seems like the whole world is growing hemp for myriads of uses, except us. If we're so advanced, why are we always the last? Remember how good fresh raw milk in glass bottles tasted? Why is it that we have to trek all the way to Puna to get it any more? Bring back glass. Bring on hemp.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I won't like this change. I'm not a European shopper who walks to daily market.

I go to Safeway once a week and buy a lot of stuff at once, to save on gas driving into town. I have reusable bags, am up to 4 now that I always use at Island Naturals and now CostULess. They wouldn't be enough for my weekly Safeway shop. So what will it be, a bunch of loose groceries is my only option?

I do save all my plastic bags that are clean and dry, and they get used.
I don't like seeing landscapes littered with bags stuck to bushes either, but I'd like to see a practical solution. Oh and Island Naturals offers boxes like Costco, and last time I did that I had a batch of German cockroaches imported that were under the flaps.

If people want to stop using plastic bags, they should. They shouldn't impose their choices on others. IMHO!

I feel that way too, Paul.

One way that plastic is practical on the east side, and paper isn't -- how often do my purchases get rained on en route to the car? A lot. Paper bags can be ready to fall apart by the time I unload. At home, I don't have covered parking, so I appreciate having the stuff waterproofed on its way in.

I used to always decline plastic when I lived in California, but I changed my preference after living here.

I agree thats why I like the foodland credit. You dont get penalized if you choose not to use recycling bags. But you get a credit if you do!
