March tsunami timeline
#11
Thanks. I think they get a seismologist to evaluate the report before they send it.
I wonder how Carey knew about the quake within 15 mins of it happening?

Jeeezzzz.... this from the ONE couple I called right away....'cause I knew they may need a place to hang out....

Actually, it is one of those odd coincidences, DH & I were watching the NHK (Japanese public TV on KMED-SD on antennae) show on the organic farming that was being done to supply the China market - which we found more than a little ironic (much more ironic was that much of the farming was in the area hit). As we were watching the program, the video started shaking (we thought at first it was poor camera technique) then the broadcast was cut to the station & oil refinery fire across from the TV station, then to the live helicopter feed of the tsunami front as it progressed inland....

So it started as nothing more than watching an odd show on a boring night of TV.... and turned out to be watching the live feed of the devastation...

No first hand dealings with Pele, nor a white dog....Not even a phone call from DC or USGS.... also why the first report I gave was 7.9 on the Japan scale....

I received the automatic phone calls from civil defese both on the landline and on the cell after the siren sound. The calls came twice at about 5 min. apart on each line, four calls total.
