It's not my job to judge others regarding how much they do or do not support a group of people. That doesn't relieve anything. NO ONE likes fingers pointing their way - NO ONE.
I adore my children and support them no matter what. I don't support them MORE because they are Gay, Bisexual or Lesbian. I support them the same - whatever. They don't need groupies. They need love.[

I understand where you're coming from, Carrie, but somewhat disagree.
People who are subject to unreasonable hate and prejudice (for merely being what nature made them) DO need extra support. Because the kids who are not hated and belittled and at risk of being beaten up and left for dead by the side of the road need a normal amount of love and reinforcement -- but those who our society denies basic civil rights and benefits and who are treated badly may just like to have some additional positive support to balance that out.
Kids who fit the norm of our society don't need to hear "I don't hate you" because they have no reason to worry about it.
Kids who have experienced hate and prejudice and bias that their life goes against nature, may well benefit from assurances that they too are normal and natural.
Statistically, teenagers who have to come to terms with the difficulties of living as a gay person are still far more likely to commit suicide than teens who are not gay.

Kathy, my kids are part of this group and they know they are loved and they are secure with who they are. I realize that's not representative of every GLBT's situation. I'm just sayin' that I don't treat them any different since they came out to me than before. I love them. Period.
I know there's bullying out there for certain and it's very sad. Wish we could all just look into each other hearts and not give a crap about who we all choose to sleep with.
