I wish we had a Wendy's this side, at least there are some healthy options there e.g. chili, baked potato, salad . . .
McDonalds in Pahoa?

All this talk about McDonald's made me want a Big Mac so I went to Keaau and got one. That first fry was extra good. YUM!

I have e-mailed the Puna Dev. Com. and am awaiting confirmtion if this is true. Honestly Pahoa could remain a heritage town and the fact that we have 3 pharmacies in the area speaks of what we need less of in our community. I am talk ing about devalued food crating devalued people. We already have the top ranking highest levels of heart disease, obesity, and diabeties in the nation. Pahoa could create more community... how to grow food, an ice-skating rink on solar power or other facility to keep our community going strong and healthy and out of trouble. Will post as soon as I know more.

If this is regarding TMK (3) 1 5 013 023 - 15-2852 PAHOA VILLAGE ROAD - it is owned by Maui Varieties Investments purchased in June 2010. It's hard to tell on the maps but this looks like the lot directly across from the post office. #025 & 026 are also not showing anything, and the one next to 026 is the clinic.
The COH website is showing it as still zoned residential. If this is the right property, it may be in the rezoning process. There are no existing permits showing up either.

Maui Varieties Investments owns Ben Franklin and Ace Hardware stores,so I am guessing it will be a Big Box Ben Franklin/Ace with a drive thru Mc'Ds.

Pahoa could remain a heritage town and have a solar powered ice rink.
Interesting concept.

Pahoa already got a pretty good ACE hardware in a relatively newer development. I just don't see them building another one.

its all about the amount of people in a area. in 1978 Mickey D's wouldn't think about it. Now with growth comes anything that will serve people. The best part is we or you don't have to support them. But for some its a good deal. For one teens will gain employment. For us retired no big deal. peace
