You need to check the TV listings to program it, but it is worth it. You can record a program, edit out the commercials and even record the ones you want to keep to a DVD. You can set it to record every week on a certain night at a certain time. We have an older model and we have been quite happy with it. For about 10 months the manufacturer stopped making them for the US market and the remaining models were selling for big bucks. They make a 500 GB model as well.

The DB8 is awesome, but I had trouble finding a vendor who would ship.

Just FYI the manufacturer of the DB8 cautions AGAINST using it in our area as many of our channels are VHF and the Db8 and db4 are UHF only. They recommend the clearstream 2.

That one looks pretty good, and a rotor is a great idea! The specs say "Channel: VHF1-12 UHF21-69", which is odd, but I think they mean VHF 2-13 & UHF 14-69. There are currently no channels between RF 14-20 that serve Puna right now anyway.
Depending where you are in Puna, I'd point it towards Hilo and do the main scan. If you are missing CBS, point it temporarily towards Mauna Kea and scan for Channel 45. If you are missing PBS, point it temporarily towards Kulani Cone (end of Stainback Hwy) and scan for Channel 41.
Channel 32 in Mountain View has a target airdate of August 2013; Channel 34 in Hilo is on-the-way too, but I don't know the target date for that.

I've got that one ("RCA ANT751R")! Works great for both the high VHF & the UHF stations (which is what Hiloside TV is).
And it's a pretty low profile look!
