Haven't been to IHOP here yet. But the Birthday suggestion sounds good. Do you need a coupon or just your D/L? How does it work?

At the risk of being predictable, I vote for Island Naturals, where I eat breakfast several days per week. Organic, strong, local coffee, veggie options, meat options, made fresh daily.

I second the vote for Tim Shack Bakery... always good to support local business!
Kalapana Cafe is also great and you will never leave without a full stomach!

Pretty new to the island but love this forum... thought I'd throw in my 2 cents..
Tin Shack Bakery has vegan/veggie options and has a pretty big menu for a Bakery/Cafe, with all house made goodies. Best coffee I've had so far in Puna. Also affordable. Large coffee + housemade bagel and cream cheese = 5 even! Kalapana is where I grab breakfast before heading to Pahoa... best potatoes in the world. BF and I get breakfast for about 10 bucks total.

I love Pele's Kitchen in Pahoa - super-yummy homemade baked items and juices. We ended up there at least three times in a week the last time we were there and can't wait to go back when we are there again in February!

I have to agree with Russell,
Their eggs fried in bacon fat are yummie, and the bisquits and gravy are so good you know they didn't skimp on the lard and drippings. [:p]

Sunday morning has always been our traditional breakfast out, go get breakfast, then go shopping for the week. Judging from the same people we see every week, I would guess many people have the same tradition. Any place that serves breakfast, but is closed on Sundays, is missing a lot of business.
