You could advertise on Craig's List as a beekeeper looking for a place instead of looking on CL for a rental. Someone with hives may be able to find a place for you. Might be worth a shot and it wouldn't cost anything.

thanks again people. I really won't be looking for a beekeeping job, just a place where I can keep my own bees. that said though, perhaps posting this on CL might be a good idea. ....
I have been watching some of those home buying shows about Hawaii, and they are scaring me........... I don't want to sound like a jerk, but most of the people buying in Hawaii on these shows are the kind of people I am in hope of getting away from.. (don't get upset, I say this with a bit a humor)

Most of those people on the Hawaii home buying shows don't live in Puna! If they did, many of us wouldn't be here either.

Don't worry about the "Hawaii Life" type shows. I've watched those and laughed. They are kind of BS.
You may really like Kalapana. If I were you I'd check out CL. I think that's going to be your best bet.

thank you Lupie, I hope I do fit well and find a few kindred spirits. I want to live in Hawaii to LIVE in Hawaii... not in a place that is like any generic subdivision on the mainland... why bother moving if you want the new place to be the same as the place you left..?
anyway, thank you hikatz. good information on that link. I enjoy bees. magical creatures imo. I am a follower of Les Crowder, one of the top-bar gurus in the beek world.

Aloha Ri3ck, just sent you a PM too. I'm a novice TB treatment-free beekeeper (+ hive builder) and live right down the street from VancouverIslander. Lots of great folks doing natural beekeeping on island.

I watch all the HawaiiLife shows on television. Not because I am like them, but because I like to see the land and also, what some of the houses look like. Often times, Me and my wife watch the show like "these people are idiots", but I would def be on the show if they wanted to fund my trip ! Havent seen the "PUNA" edition yet ! hahah

Click on a users name in one of their posts to see their profile. There's a link to send them an email which brings up a form you can type your message. This is sent to their email address with your email address as the sender (I *think*). In the case of the PM I sent you, it bounced with an error message from your email server saying that the domain the email was sent from was rejected. This can happen if the email is sent from one server with another server listed as the sender. Some servers are configured to do this to prevent people from sending bulk spam and other security related reasons.

To read PM's from other users, you'd just check the email address you used to sign up for PunaWeb. I don't think Punaweb is configured to have a direct PM feature like many other BB's.
