The thing is; None of these "coffee clutches(sic)" have anything to do with the state DOT, or Highway 130.
Sometimes community service doesn't equate organized crime; And most surfers don't represent anything organized. (joke)

The correct spelling is "klatch".
Otherwise agree 100%: it's a State Highway, and the State definitely has their own agenda.

Every day, I know a little bit less.
@Obie:
I have tried to play by the rules. But its impossible when there are so many rule breakers out here!
I love to talk solid waste, waste to energy, GEO, landfills - and all - but I can't. Because the "horoscope mongers" want to dwell on more meaningless nonsensical gibberish.
@TomK - I should feel flattered that you think I will make a "straw man" argument - and that it's "on the way."
This - coming from one the one who made your own "straw man" argument on your first post of this thread!
Tell me - what do you think about TMT? Solid Waste? GEO?
@Leilanidude
I know that at times, facts can be hard to find. You should do a bit more research. The property owned by the Hunt family where they operate their surf shop is - as per the County of Hawaii Property Tax Website - and according to them - its zoned commercial.
So whatever your point is - its clear to me that for you, its much easier to fling mud than it is to look something up and obtain a fact.
@Snorkel - your motto is perfect for this group!

what's the big deal with someone that runs a blog or owns a business running for office? sounds like they are both passionate about news/topics and a motivated self starter interested in making a profit. those seem like traits that would benefit everyone. who do you want in office - some slacker that can't get anything done that doesn't care about anything?

No big deal about having a blog or owning a business. Where did you get that impression?
Perhaps you are attributing comments about self interest promoting, opposing others who own a business and questions about ethics and honesty to merely owning a business or having a bog.
Read back and it may become clearer.
Assume the best and ask questions.

+1 to Rob Tucker's last comment. It's not the fact that Edwards Hunt has a blog, but the elements of temperment revealed by the way she runs it that concern many people. She calls herself a journalist, but has banned people who ask legitimate questions about the journalistic standards she uses. She has threatened those who question her standards or suggest that people not visit her site with legal action, even coming on Punaweb in one case to do so. She inserted her own agenda into the elections office fiasco, which eventually became more about Tiffany than it was about the real problems of running the election. She seems to have it in for Greggor Ilagan, who has a good chance of re-election and who she would need to work with if elected. There's more, but it won't really change anyone's mind.
In the end, all our back and forth on internet forums will have little or no effect on who wins. In Puna, it's all about long-standing personal relationships, family, and ethnic blocs. People in the past who've based their hopes of election on the internet have not done well. Of course, this is all just my opinion, which is worth the proverbial two cents.

What has Tiffany Hunt done for our community? This isnt a sarcastic comment but a question.
If you have an accomplishment you know of, please post it.
I would like to eliminate anything "people-magazine-ish" and go with real community accomplishments. Lets leave out opinion items like "TEH is anti-gmo" unless she accomplished something in regards to a ordinance or bill.
I will start with one that is controversial but definitely something that was accomplished. Please add more if you know of them.
1) Blocked SUP application due to broad nature of SUP request.

Don't worry, the Long Standing Way Of Puna will continue as-is no matter who "wins" the "election".
