Island Naturals - Rant
#41
Island Naturals - Biggest ripoff in Pahoa. I can just see Russell Ruderman laughing all the way to the bank.

I dont know... maybe it's because I have lived on East Side a long time and back in the day our only health food in Hilo was Abundant Life and so thats where I have always gone.

The staff is nice, they are always helpful. Their pricing has always been pretty good. It is worth the extra time but I try to go in when I am in Hilo for something else anyway.

So rewarding positive behavior instead of negative, I shop at AL if I need something from the health food store.

She said that it was not her job and management said it was more efficient for customers to pack their bags, which was a lie.
The store has many good items and I shop there twice a month for my Ghee, many curry spices, Dried beans, and rice but it does need improvement in providing reliable service.
Question: Other than Island Naturals, does anyone now of another store that sells Ghee, dries spices "curry, turmeric, cloves, cardamom, dried beans and not McCormick brand.

Cathouse, when I was at Makuu market a couple of weeks ago, there was a lady who had a booth that was selling most of those spices. I think she was selling Ghee too.

The market lady's name is Sita. She sells ghee, great spices, many of which she grows and processes, offers recipes, all at great prices.

Don't forget about "Da Store!"

Smile

I bet the old CC owners are kicking themselves right about now for closing up shop.

I was at the True Value General Store in Orchidland and while they were ringing up my Bible and other wholesome purchases I was making, I asked them if they were seeing more grocery sales since everybody else left and they commented that they are having a tough time keeping up. A few days ago I went there and actually had to drive around looking for a parking spot, something I've never had to do before.
