According to the article in the Star Advertiser Kenoi hired 3 criminal defense lawyers from Honolulu. Three? One isn't enough?

The county auditor has neither the resources nor the authority to do a comprehensive forensic audit in a timely manner. The fact that we have been promised a report "by June" is rather telling, don't you think? I'm sending an email to the Attorney General requesting that he call in the cavalry. My purely speculative guess is that this situation was an outgrowth of a family dynamic between Billy and his wife over how freely he spends money. So she kept the credit cards in her name to control his spending and he got around that by using his Pcard and having the money he owed for personal spending deducted from his paycheck. He has always been known for buying rounds of drinks, or meals, and he likes expensive toys like surfboards and fancy bikes, and abusing the Pcard allowed him to maintain that lifestyle without having to fight with his wife about it.
