State Judge rules Hawaiian Kingdom still exists
i see a wave of rationality swept through here late last night amidst the sea of fantastical activist legal wrangling. thank you Punaweb at large for bringing things in this thread back within human cannonball distance of existing reality, if only for a spell. sure wouldn't want to see my in-laws and other loved ones vacated from their property and corralled into the possible upcoming mass deportations from the Kingdom.

i maintain and would emphasize:

another clever tactic political extremists such as Kaimana here may strategically employ in the attempt to further their agenda is to essentially "shoot for the sky".

intentionally pushing their agenda well beyond realistic and rational expectations with the aim of gaining ground in some estimated middle ground in a wishful eventuality. a clever strategy attempting to have a normalizing effect on something radical.

You never answered my questions. Do you think they US constitution and International Laws are unethical?

They are hereditary.

They are hereditary.

That depends on where you stand when it comes to the US Constitution. Some feel its a living document. International laws are not strictly hereditary. Also hereditary does not automatically imply its unethical.

Heredity implies it is always ethical, but not necessarily consistant or logical.

Ok I was confused oh how you were using hereditary.

If the property titles go bad in a restored Hawaii Kingdom, there goes the tax base.

There's no more sandalwood to exploit either.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I am sure all the tourists will keep coming. Right?

Are there any parallels with Subic Bay? The Philippines wanted Subic back and they got it.

Hawaii has the highest standard of living of any Pacific locale. It might sound sweet getting the Kingdom back but history is
that Kingdoms work out great for the King and no so good for everyone else. Isn't that a reasonable description of the Hawaiian Kingdom?

The royalty sold off land and natural resources for fancy furniture and do-dads while the people kinda got shafted? Am I wrong?

One of the points I have been trying to make is that those who support a kingdom need to study all of the ramifications...in their own self-interest, if for nothing else. The structure of any new plans or agreements would be very important. There are issues of fairness, such as towards those who bought properties in good faith but don't have Hawaiian blood. There are a lot of financial issues. Tax base is definitely one of them.

American tourists might not all want to get passports. Will the islands be safe? Lots of evil in the world looking for places to harm that don't have a strong defense, particularly those located in places that are strategic for defense and offense. People won't want to visit where they don't feel safe. How will the countries who see the peoples who once belonged to them displaced or evicted going to feel about traveling to Hawaii? Not to mention the islands could end up an economic mess anyway...I'm not going to go on or make myself more clear because I have to go out now but I am just hoping the Hawaiian people will consider everything.
