Hawaii Life - Puna buyers...
#31
We were shown one of those houses (the bluish ranch house) by our agent three years ago. We didn't buy it and finally ended up by the ocean.

Do these people know about the blue lines?

The most recent data is showing a steep decline in HPP home sales the past quarter and a large increase in foreclosures. This seems strange with so much traffic dropping off into Shower, Kaloli, and Paradise. It probably shows amount of traffic doesn't necessarily equate to home ownership, just a lot more renters, squatters, and vacation rentals. Whatever is going on, even though HPP population is estimated to be over 13,000, appears to be having more malihini meltdown than other hoods. If this is a recent episode, then it shows how much lag there is from recording a TV show to broadcasting. This one looks like it took over a year. Did he actually leave, or just fade off dealing with HPP problems? HGTV really needs a Malihini Meltdowns episode.

Can you cite a source for this data, because none of my usual sources for Hawaii RE show either of those for this quarter.

I just looked on MLS, 55 houses sold in the last 90 days in HPP, anywhere from $35K up to $850K. Totals for the last 12 months were 213 houses sold. Teddy's on acid.

Thanks, that's what I was seeing too, with the exception of trullia who claimed only 1 house in HPP sold in the last 90 days for a very low price, but my understanding is they are not the most reliable source for data. Everywhere else I looked showed booming sales, plus I've seen so many houses go from pouring the foundation to lived in, in just a matter of 8-10 weeks, that Teddy's claim just made no sense.

Most of Teddy's claims about anything make no sense. I don't know why Rob lets him spew so much garbage, and way over the rate of 5 spews a day.

We should make PT a special PW Tee Shirt with his very own slogan emblazoned on the back - "5 Spews a Day"

I, for one, think the quality of discourse on Punaweb would be greatly enhanced if members were actually limited to a maximum of five posts per day, not an "average of five posts per day." This is Rob's baby, and I defer to his judgement of course, but perhaps knowing that there was a set limit would encourage posters to self-censor and only add to a conversation when they had something substantive to say.

Has anyone ever received a system message saying that they have exceeded the five messages per day average?

Not sure Rich but there was a notable absence a few days ago. Very refreshing. So it might have happened.

A man in a white lifted 4 extend cab 4x4 older Ford truck with Hawaii Life sign on the drivers door of said truck does not stop at stop signs.
He is constantly on his cell phone and tail gates.Comes into the Highway at Paradise Dr .
Passes on the shoulder if a line of traffic on highway is slower than the posted 45 or even 55 .
Even on Paradise Drive - he passes all other vehicles going slower than his average of 60 to 70 MPH.
If any one knows this man who reps Hawaii Life - could some one please let him know this is not L.A. Calif .
He will kill or maim some one very soon and life is way to short for a maniac driver who reps Hawaii Life .
