"Interesting how most of the mainland transplant loud mouths that were in huge support of this thing are now shuffling into the shadows."
This stuff from pahoated is getting old very quickly. Mainland transplant loud mouths? Which transplants are shuffling into the shadows? Name them.

It may come as a surprise to some on Punaweb, but not all members see the need to respond to every post they disagree with, or to repeat their opinions ad nauseum. The longer I've been here, the more I've come to realize that Punaweb is rarely a place for intelligent conversation or respectful dialog. Rather it's become a place where drive-by character assassination and obnoxious behavior have become the norm. So rather than engage or encourage those who have nothing better to do than engage in cyber bullying, I suspect many members just monitor the threads for the occasional bit of new information, contribute when they feel it's appropriate, then back away from their keyboards before the spit stars flying. Just because they have silenced themselves, it doesn't mean their opinions have changed.

KR,
I don't know if I'm included in the group you aimed your post at, but you make an excellent point. Sometimes I get so annoyed by complete nonsense or deliberately false information being posted by some I feel compelled to reply, it's just my nature, but you're quite right. I don't think I can let false and potentially harmful posts go unquestioned, but sometimes it's better not to respond. Thank you.

Been surprised at the many Saturdays in which they have been working on the roundabout, as well as what actually seems to be rapid (for Hawaii anyway) progress.

KeaauRich, I couldn't agree more. Sometimes it's just more pleasant to disengage.

They are repaving the road by the roundabout so only one lane is open with each direction being stopped for about 10 mins at at time. Having just passed it, the long line of southbound traffic is currently backed up from Malama's to Makuu Drive.
At least it gives everyone lots of time to read the construction signs noting there is a Roundabout Update meeting Thursday (tomorrow) @ Pahoa Community Center. Just be sure to leave an hour early to get through the traffic by the roundabout http://hawaiitribune-herald.com/news/loc...roundabout |
