racism, favoritism and nepotism are going away quickly..
Actually, if the Republican presidential campaign is anything to judge the world by, I'd say they're just getting started.

Dakine - the rules for Punatalk state:
"National and world politics are not allowed. Local, Hawaii County and State of Hawaii politics are allowed."
It's more likely people are respecting Rob's rules and discussing Kenoi rather than Trump.

Actually, if the way the pro TMT crowd here behaves is any indication of how things are going in our society then I'd say they're just getting started.

Strong words, dakine, now back them up.
This article has a good video of Mr Kenoi and his p-card explanations. Also the ethics complaint letter is a bit long but worth the time to read.

Really those two woman who were getting paid to do a job too, i believe it was nancy Crawford and mrs Sato who may have known for some time (years) about Billy kenoi's spending habits? Possible fraud conspiracy, jmo.

When we use our credit card - we pay an interest rate of a certain % if can not be paid in full in a 29 day time span .
Just wondering if the Mayor when he paid back his personal use items on the tax payer credit card , if he also paid the interest rate of a certain % just to show he over paid when paying back ?
Maybe it is an interest free card,we do not know - but nothing will come of this in the long run and he and his ohana will be quickly forgiven and all this forgotten about .
Life goes on .

I really doubt he had much intentions of paying it back. In my mind, it was Oh Crap! This is coming out, I better start paying it back. Tho, reality, if it hadn't come up it would of been, well, you know, the county needed a new surfboard, what can I say?
The guy wasn't getting minimum wages, he wasn't rich, but yeah, he was getting paid well enough to pay for a surfboard. So, I don't see a reason not to use a personal credit card, and if he couldn't afford it? What, he could wait a few months and do like everyone else "SAVE UP" some money and pay for it when you got the cash.
I know some people love the guy.... But, we are not talking about an average Joe. We are talking about the frigen Mayor .... Someone that is suppose to have a good education and well, some basic "common sense" and maybe some sort of budget sense? Basic math skills to balance out a checkbook and figure out what you got in the checking account.
So, the mayor is supposed to lead and set examples. We give them a lot of responsibility and trust. So when these things start to happen someone has to step up to the plate ...
Man up Billy... Stop crying and figure it out, he should know that the first offer is always the best one. He's gonna wind up worse off he keeps playing stupid.

LOL! (Zing...good one, dakine) Yes, perhaps, O/T, however Trump was mentioned earlier in this thread, without any rebuttal.
Back to topic, it will be very interesting to see if others will be implicated along with Kenoi.
Of interest, last night's late news interviewed Mr. Goodenow, who stated:
"Ken Goodenow, the vice-chairman of the ethics board, said if they decide to move forward, the board would then have to do its own investigation, and then send its findings to the county council.
But even then, the council does not have the authority to remove the mayor from office. “They could come out with a draft petition,” Goodenow said, “but it would still need to be signed by two percent of the registered voters, and then a circuit court judge would have an impeachment trial.”
With only eight months left in Mayor Kenoi’s term, Goodenow thinks it’s not likely that this could all be done before his term runs out."

Which explains why they waited a year to even start looking at this when Kenoi admitted to making the unauthorized P-card charges from the beginning. The fix was in from the start.
