We appear to have a serious conflict in data paulw.
Whats your explanation paulw? They both cant be correct. Perhaps your data source is averaged and what NOAA shows in thier .gif loop is focused on the topic at hand?

I don't know. Depends how you define the center of the storm I suppose.

They, NOAA, at the time, did indeed show darby centered due East of the Eastern tip of the island. Wish now, I had saved that file too. It was inline with the file I linked to. The wiki link does not reflect the noaa real time data that was published at the time of the events.

What it boils down to PaulW is something called an artifact. The original inturpretations of the data became artifacts and were tossed out the window and the centered track made to fit a stablized inturpretation. I've no doubt the artifacts are still being looked at and are being kept on file at NOAA. A puzzle piece for some later consideration, perhaps.

Has anyone seen the spaghetti models predicting which way this post-Darby discussion is headed? Or how hazardous it might get? I'm not evacuating the thread yet, but want to make preparations if deemed necessary.

“What we take to be true is what we believe. What we believe is based upon our perceptions. What we perceive depends on what we look for. What we look for depends on what we think. What we think depends on what we perceive. What we perceive determines what we believe. What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality." -David Bohm

Is it possible that the models are being distorted by "accidental release" from PGV? JMO
